Being a photographer, you’d think that I would have lots of family portraits. And while I do bribe my kids quite a bit, they get tired of constantly being the subject. So it is actually a little difficult getting all of my boys to take photos willingly. But! Because it was our 11 year wedding anniversary, and we didn’t have professional family portraits with my youngest, I felt it was definitely long overdue! I called up my friend Rachel from Rachel Meldrum Photography and asked her to squeeze us in for a session. I love the the area by the bay here in Corpus Christi so we decided to go there! It was pretty windy and my hair got a little crazy, but it was so worth it! I have these beautiful portraits of my whole family that I will cherish forever!
Ricky and I have been together 13 years. Married for 11. It’s been an amazing partnership. He is not only my husband, but he is my best friend. We talk about our personal dreams, as well as our goals for our family. We read together in order to grow as a couple and as individuals. We laugh together and enjoy binge watching Netflix while eating oreos with a glass of milk! We have watched FRIENDS from start to finish probably 10 times. Date nights are not fancy and usually consist of dinner and a movie. We are huge movie buffs and love to play guess-that-soundtrack with our kiddos (especially on long car rides). We might not be familiar with the latest hit song on the radio, but my boys know most John Williams film scores.
We love to travel, both as a family and as a couple. We have taken a few “honeymoons” since getting married! (I HIGHLY suggest it to all couples. Take trips without your little ones. Even if it is just to the next town!) We have visited multiple places in the U.S. and Mexico. And we dream of the days when we can travel to Italy, Greece, Spain, and Argentina (where Ricky served a mission).
We have 3 beautiful boys and a fur baby named Coco which makes life so much more interesting! Our home is filled with box forts, nerf gun fights, and Baseball! I honestly can’t imagine life any other way. Words cannot describe the amount of love I have for my family. Our life together is not glamorous, extravagant, or perfect. It’s messy, busy, and sometimes unorganized, but it’s beautiful!
This is us. 11 years in the making. “It’s funny how day by day nothing changes. But when you look back, everything is different” – C.S. Lewis.
